Sheltie is very easy to train, she is extremely intelligent and easy to learn, of course, if she is trained by a good trainer using the right methods. Shetland Sheepdogs are happy to obey humans, but a highly developed herd instinct is difficult to curb and it can cause some trouble for the owner of the Sheltie. This dog is a member of the family, and she just loves to sit with everyone on the couch and watch TV. The Shetland Sheepdog is also an excellent shepherd and is still used to guard and graze sheep.
