It is not recommended to apply rough or arbitrary methods of education to this breed. The German Shepherd Dog has extraordinary intelligence and learns everything very quickly. Training should be conducted on the basis of respect for the dog, firmness, fairness, timely reward and consistency. The German Shepherd Dog is great on the trail, excels in Schutzhund, Agility, Obedience, Flyball and any other dog competition. It is often used in police work, search and rescue, military service and as a guide dog. Weight: 34 - 43 kg. Height at withers: 56 - 66 cm. Life expectancy: 10 - 13 years.
