Early socialization and early obedience training are essential for this breed. A Mastiff needs a dominant trainer. Despite the fact that this dog always strives to please its owner, training can be quite difficult. Harsh training methods are not suitable for this breed, it must be treated with respect, patience and resilience. Mastiffs succeed in guarding, military, police work, search and rescue of people. The huge, muscular, powerful mastiff is considered one of the heaviest dogs. The male can weigh in excess of 90 kg (200 lb). It is a fearless, brave, dominant dog. Weight: 79 - 86 kg. Height at the withers: 71 - 76 cm. Life expectancy: 7 - 11 years.
