The Lagotto Romagnolo is a very intelligent dog that enjoys learning. Early socialization and general training are recommended. No harsh or arbitrary methods should be used; training should be based on positive reinforcement, fairness, patience, and consistency. The Lagotto Romagnolo is small to medium in size, well built, stocky and very cheerful. Lagotto Romagnolo has an extraordinarily keen sense of smell.
